How strategic technical decisions made a solo-built app competitive in Polymarket's ecosystem
Tennis is one of the most globally followed sports, with year-round tournaments, iconic Grand Slams, and millions of engaged fans across continents. Unlike seasonal team sports, tennis operates almost continuously, creating constant opportunities for fan interaction.
The fantasy sports market alone exceeds $42 billion globally, yet tennis remains one of the least explored segments within it.

The client came to us with an idea to build a fantasy tennis platform that would deepen fan engagement and give meaning to following tournaments and players throughout the year.
The concept was based on real-world tennis performance:
Unlike existing solutions, the product was not meant to be tied to a single tournament or event, but instead support continuous play across the tennis calendar.

A key part of the vision was education. The client wanted users to discover more about tennis players - their careers, performance patterns, and risks rather than focusing only on top-ranked stars.
During discovery, it became clear that fantasy tennis is an underserved niche. Current products fail to support year-round play, and do little to help fans understand the broader tennis ecosystem.
We led a full discovery phase focused on turning the idea into a viable, scalable product. This included defining the core fantasy mechanics, league structures, and season logic, while accounting for the unique nature of tennis. We explored different drafting models, transfer rules, and scoring systems suitable for both public and private leagues.
They provided excellent advice at the outset of the project. I described what I was trying to accomplish and what I thought it was looking to hire them for. They counseled me to consider a slightly different path that was more cost-effective and efficient. We followed their advice and it proved to be the correct course of action.
Additionally, they are based primarily in Ukraine and I’m in the US, but the working partnership was seamless.

This discovery phase transformed an ambitious idea into a clear, structured product vision grounded in market reality.
The client gained a validated product direction, a realistic software development execution plan, and a compelling narrative ready for investors and partners. Together, we laid a solid foundation for turning an underserved niche into a sustainable digital product within the rapidly growing fantasy sports market.
